Clearance Reviews
The Clearance Review Process is for any participant who wishes to move to a new Club but has consequently had their clearance declined by NSWRL due to a potential breach of the NSWRL Player Transfer Policy.
A club who believes a Transfer Permission has been unfairly denied under the scope of the Policy has the option of submitting a request for a Transfer Review. Please refer to Exceptional Circumstances within the NSWRL Policies and Procedures (Section 6), which outlines circumstances in which a Transfer can be approved over and above the Transfer Policy.
This can be done by applying to the NSWRL Area Manager who shall assess the merits of the Transfer Review and either approve or deny the Transfer Permission.
Clearance Appeals
Should the Transfer Permission be denied under the terms of the Transfer Review, the aggrieved club shall have the right to Appeal this decision to the relevant Appeals Committee of the competition in question.
Please note the only basis on which an Appellant may Appeal a Transfer Decision is:
- If this Policy has been incorrectly applied by the Existing Club or the League in making a Transfer Decision;
- If a Transfer Decision has been made on the basis of incorrect or incomplete information in relation to the Player concerned; or
- If Exceptional Circumstances as defined by the policy exist in relation to the Player, and those Exceptional Circumstances have not been properly taken into account in relation to the Transfer Decision the subject of the Appeal.
The Transfer Appeal form will only be distributed following a declined Transfer Review.
Pending Registrations
Clubs play an important role in the processing of pending registrations by first checking that each record contains:
- the correct legal name,
- date of birth,
- a clear photo ID,
- and an acceptable identity document to allow details to be verified.
Once a record is complete and ready for approval, clubs should submit a list of names to NSWRL via Club Hub. All pending registrations are then reviewed and processed by NSWRL staff.
Note: Pending registration status relates solely to identity verification and does not affect a participant’s overall registration status.
Playing Up and Playing Down Age Group Requests
Participants may apply to play up an age group on either a temporary or permanent basis, or to play down an age group, in accordance with the relevant NSWRL and NRL policies.
Before submitting any application, please ensure you have reviewed the applicable Competition By-Laws.
Note: Rugby League Central Coast do not accept Playing Down Age Group requests.
